DED documentary films are used to portray selected projects and focus on development cooperation at the grass roots level. Featuring technical aspects of the project, the films tell personal stories mainly about the DED partner organization, but also about the committed DED expert in the field.

The DED is teaching farmers to shift from growing coconuts, rice and corn- traditional low yield crops- to higher yielding vegetable farming, and working with DTI to make Southern Leyte the main source of vegetables for the whole Visayas.

Training locals how to become tour guides and helping them organize so they can manage an eco-tour program, the DED is helping a community in Candijay, Bohol that wants to save its mangrove forest. Setting up a sustainable eco-tour project is the key to the protection and preservation of their mangrove.

Director Kidlat de Guia.

The documentareis were directed by Kidlat de Guia, a young Filipino-German filmmaker who is gaining a well-deserved reputation as among the upcoming crop of young Filipino filmmakers. He is also the son and namesake of the older Kidlat Tahimik (Eric de Guia), an internationally known videographer and artist.
